Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg / Telemetry - $1,677 per week

Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing seeks a travel nurse RN specializing in Med‑Surg/Telemetry for a 13‑week assignment in Lorain, Ohio. Assignment Details Specialty: Med‑Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 per week (12‑hour nights) Employment Type: Travel Responsibilities Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, documenting changes and reporting concerns to the care team. Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor patient responses. Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgical procedures. Document comprehensive patient information, including vital signs, medications, treatments, and care outcomes, in the medical record. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans. Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical needs. Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed, including hand hygiene and PPE use. Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences, ensuring they are respected and integrated into the care plan. Facilitate discharge planning, coordinating with patients, families, and external resources to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications One year of recent Med‑Surg/Telemetry RN experience. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification. Preferred Qualifications NIHSS certification. ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification. Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position. Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and proficiency in PC skills. Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Collaborative skills to work effectively with diverse personnel. Technical/motor skills for fine manipulation and use of department equipment. Mental resilience to cope with frequent public contact, deadlines, and irregular schedules. Visual acuity and effective communication for sensory requirements.
