Senior MachinistSan Jose, CAAbout the RoleMuon seeks a Senior Machinist to join our team. You'll own the machined parts the engineering teams depend on for testing and flight— embedded between engineering and the machine shop. Design reviews on Tuesday, dialing in fixturing on Wednesday, owning first-article inspection on Friday. The named point of contact for components as it moves from CAD to finished parts.This position is fully on-site at our San Jose office, five days per week.ResponsibilitiesProgram and operate CNC mills and lathes for flight componentsSit in testing and tooling design reviews to flag manufacturability and tolerance issues earlyDevelop fixturing, tooling, and processes to produce tooling faster and more efficientlyOwn first-article and in-process QC for hardwareDocument via MES; write non-conformance tickets; maintain traceabilityTrain shop team and engineers on tooling and component-specific machining processesQualifications5+ years machining for aerospace, medical, or other high-precision industriesProgramming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills; CAM (Fusion 360, MasterCAM, or similar)Haas controller experience & FanucStrong metrology fundamentals; comfortable with inspection toolsComfortable with brittle materials (graphite, composites, ceramics)U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual (ITAR)Able to achieve security level clearance if neededNice-to-Have SkillsMatsuura, Yasda, and Haas experienceCMM programmingTooling, Test lab & class 7+ Cleanroom experienceExotic alloys, Graphite or brittle-material machining experienceSalaryThe salary range for this role is $58 - $65 per hour, plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package.
