Job Title: Inspector Job Description

The Inspector performs detailed in-process inspections on components using drawings, CAD models, and established procedures to verify conformance to manufacturing and design requirements. This role ensures proper receiving and storage of composite raw materials, documents production non-conformances, supports the quality management system, and contributes to continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed in-process inspections on various components using technical drawings, CAD models, and established procedures to verify conformance to manufacturing and design requirements.

• Use precision inspection tools, including digital calipers, digital micrometers, and borescopes, to measure and evaluate parts and assemblies.

• Review and interpret blueprints to confirm that components meet specified tolerances and quality standards.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to the receiving and storage of composite raw materials.

• Document production non-conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures and processes, maintaining accurate and thorough records.

• Support the quality management system (QMS) by following established policies and procedures and assessing compliance with company and industry standards.

• Initiate and lead continual improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency in inspection and production processes.

• Support the Material Review Board (MRB) process by documenting, tracking, and managing non-conformances through resolution.

• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to address inspection findings and recommend corrective actions.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while handling materials and equipment in accordance with company guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of inspection experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency using digital calipers and digital micrometers for precise measurement and inspection.

• Experience using borescopes to inspect internal features and difficult-to-access areas of components.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to verify conformance to specifications.

• Strong quality assurance mindset with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

• Ability to follow and apply established inspection procedures and quality standards.

• Competence in documenting non-conformances clearly and accurately according to defined processes.

• Understanding of quality management system (QMS) principles and compliance requirements.

• Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts.

• Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams on quality-related issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

• Inspection experience specifically within aerospace or military manufacturing environments is highly beneficial.

• Familiarity with composite raw materials and their handling, receiving, and storage requirements.

• Comfort working with CAD models as part of the inspection and verification process.

• Ability to contribute ideas and participate in continual improvement and Lean initiatives.

• Strong organizational skills for managing inspection records and non-conformance documentation.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing and inspection environment that handles aerospace and composite components. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Inglewood, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
