The United States Capitol Police (USCP) safeguards the Congress, Members of Congress, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure and open environment. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. ForCP-07/GS-09: Applicants qualifying for the CP-07/GS-09 level includes one (1)year/52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least CP-06/GS-08level. Specialized experience consists of: working on automotive repairs suchas overhauling major components, replacing defective parts, adjusting brakes,engine idle, voltage or valves; troubleshooting, repair diagnoses; or servicingheat and/or air conditioning units and components. Current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications in all of thefollowing five (5) areas listed below: Suspension and Steering; Brakes; Electrical/Electronic Systems; Heating and Air Conditioning; Engine Performance; And *CertificationsMust Be Included to Consider Application Complete* All eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the vacancy announcement.
