Position Overview The Neuropsychologist is responsible for providing high‑quality, evidence‑based neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessment services while promoting excellence in clinical practice, training, and education among trainees and staff. This role involves comprehensive assessment, consultation, report writing, feedback sessions, training, supervision, and administrative responsibilities. Additionally, the Neuropsychologist serves as an ambassador for CBC, upholding its values in all professional interactions both within and outside the organization. In this role, the Neuropsychologist evaluates cognitive, academic, behavioral, emotional, developmental, and executive functioning concerns in children, adolescents, and young adults. The Neuropsychologist integrates information gathered through interviews, records review, observations, collateral contacts, and standardized assessment measures to develop diagnostic impressions and individualized recommendations. Depending on their level of experience and seniority, the Neuropsychologist may also supervise trainees involved in assessment services. Those with relevant expertise and interest may further engage in consultation services for schools, agencies, physicians, families, and community organizations. Opportunities may also include facilitating workshops, conducting trainings, participating in outreach activities, and contributing to program development initiatives. To ensure continuity of care and uphold professional standards, the Neuropsychologist is expected to maintain accurate patient records, complete reports in a timely manner, uphold confidentiality, complete administrative paperwork, and manage billing and documentation requirements promptly. Additionally, the Neuropsychologist is expected to participate in peer consultation meetings, engage in continuing education, and maintain effective communication with patients, families, referral sources, colleagues, administrators, schools, and other relevant parties. Responsibilities Direct Clinical Care Professional Duties Include 48 batteries a year (1 battery a week) for a total of 47 weeks annually (Clinical RG SUs). 1-2 EF sessions a week for a total of 47 week annually (Clinical RG SUs) Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations. Review developmental, educational, psychological, medical, and social histories. Administer, score, and interpret cognitive, academic, behavioral, emotional, adaptive functioning, executive functioning, and neuropsychological assessment measures. Integrate assessment findings into diagnostic formulations and recommendations. Prepare comprehensive written evaluation reports in a timely manner. Conduct feedback sessions with patients, parents, caregivers, and families to review findings and recommendations. Provide recommendations related to treatment planning, educational programming, accommodations, interventions, and support services. Consult and communicate with collateral sources, including schools, physicians, therapists, and community providers as needed to enhance clinical care. Participate in educational planning meetings, school consultations, and multidisciplinary treatment discussions when appropriate. Work collaboratively and across disciplines with the clinical and administrative team at CBC. Attend clinical team meetings and educational sessions such as grand rounds and didactic seminars. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and professional standards. Supervisory responsibilities include Based on determination of type and level of experience and seniority, the Neuropsychologist will: Receive supervision and consultation from senior staff members as appropriate. Provide supervision to graduate externs, interns, post‑doctoral fellows, or junior staff involved in assessment services as assigned by the Director of Training. Participate in individual and/or group supervision activities. Attend monthly supervisor meetings and complete tasks and duties related to supervision when applicable. Participate in training activities, presentations, workshops, and educational programming related to assessment services. Professional Development Opportunities Receive supervision and consultation. Attend CBC trainings and receive continuing education credits. Participate in peer consultation and assessment‑focused team meetings. Based on interest and determination of experience and seniority, conduct training and provide consultation services to schools, agencies, healthcare providers, businesses, and community organizations. Participate in program development initiatives and quality improvement activities. Based on interest, skill, and organizational needs, pursue leadership opportunities within the organization. Requirements and Qualifications Competency in neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessment is required. This involves didactic training and formally supervised clinical experience in administering, scoring, interpreting, and integrating psychological and neuropsychological assessment measures. Experience evaluating cognitive, academic, attentional, executive functioning, learning, developmental, behavioral, and emotional concerns. Strong diagnostic, report writing, and case conceptualization skills. Experience providing feedback and consultation to families, schools, and multidisciplinary providers. Knowledge of special education services, accommodations, IEPs, and 504 plans is strongly preferred. Experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. NY State License is current and in good standing. Strong clinical skills and team orientation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with staff, families, schools, and community professionals. Ability to act in accordance with CBC's mission. Written Communication: Preparing comprehensive, accurate, and clinically meaningful evaluation reports. Speaking: Communicating findings and recommendations effectively to families, schools, providers, and other professionals. Social Perceptiveness: Understanding family dynamics, educational needs, and individual differences that may impact functioning. Assessment and Analysis: Administering, interpreting, and integrating standardized assessment measures. Maintaining Organization: Managing assessment schedules, documentation, reports, collateral communications, and clinical records. Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships: Developing collaborative relationships with patients, families, schools, referral sources, and colleagues. Education Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, or Combined Clinical‑School Psychology. Specialized training and experience in neuropsychological and/or psychoeducational assessment. Autism/ADOS New York State Psychologist License in good standing. Working Conditions Typical Working Conditions Regular interaction with patients, families, school personnel, healthcare providers, and staff in direct service and consultation settings. Position requires administration of standardized assessment measures in both office and community settings. Exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and other conditions common to outpatient clinical settings may occur. Position requires prolonged sitting, computer use, report writing, and administration of assessment instruments. Physical Demands With or without reasonable accommodation, must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties of this position. The physical and mental requirements of this position may include seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly. Occasional reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting may be required. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and movement between testing environments may occur. Additional physical requirements may include occasional lifting and moving of testing materials and equipment up to 25 pounds. Communication Requires reviewing assessment data, records, reports, and collateral information to formulate clinical conclusions and recommendations. Requires communicating findings through written reports, consultation, and formal feedback sessions with patients, families, schools, and other professionals. Complexity Requires integrating information from multiple assessment sources to address complex developmental, educational, cognitive, neurological, emotional, and behavioral concerns. Requires application of advanced clinical judgment and evidence‑based assessment practices. Independent Action Requires independent clinical judgment in conducting assessments, formulating diagnoses, developing recommendations, and managing evaluation cases within professional and organizational guidelines. Travel Occasional travel may be required for school consultations, outreach activities, presentations, and community‑based services.
