Environmental Health Safety Engineer

Our client, a precision manufacturer of medical products located in the Buffalo Grove area of Chicago, seeks an experienced environment, health, & safety engineer. This is a multi site role assisting the plant in the Northern suburbs of Chicago and one near Kenosha, Wisconsin. Role Overview Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the facility maintains full compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies related to environmental protection, workplace safety, fire prevention, and facility inspections. This role oversees the consistent execution of EHS programs and supports the development of a strong culture of accountability and employee engagement around safety initiatives. Key Responsibilities Monitoring and improving EHS performance metrics such as Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) Employee participation in safety programs Completion of job hazard analyses Internal audits Incident investigations and root cause evaluations Routine inspections Accurate documentation of EHS data and records The EHS Engineer plays a critical role in driving continuous improvement and reinforcing safe work practices across all departments. #J-18808-Ljbffr
