The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) mission is to inspire curiosity through engaging science learning experiences, foster experimentation and the exchange of ideas, and stimulate informed action. Join our team as a Camp Cook and be a part of igniting an education transformation at the intersection of science and technology that spreads opportunities across the Northwest!

The Camp Cook is an essential community member of passionate educators and learners. They provide more than just food, they offer thoughtful menus, comfort, and nourishment for all. The Camp Cook helps to plan menus, and cooks for the programs at the Coastal Discovery Center near Newport, Oregon. This is a special project position running through November 10, 2023.

OMSI operates one of the largest museum-based outdoor education programs in the country, and supports life-long learning, inclusive communities, and fostering positive relationships with the environment. In joining the OMSI team, you get the opportunity to live, work, and play on the Oregon coast!

Requirements

• Combination of experience and education equivalent to a high school diploma.
• Experience working and/or cooking in a commercial kitchen, with the ability to cook meals and baking from scratch.
• Current Oregon Food Handlers Card;
• Must be at least 18 years old to operate, repair, or clean power-driven food slicers, grinders, choppers and mixers;
• Pass pre-employment checks, such as criminal background check, reference checks, and American Camp Association (ACA) background checks (& on an annual basis).
