Shift Information

Shifts available include:

Day: 3x12 Hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
Night: 3x12 Hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
Variable Shift: 3x12 Hour shifts or 5x8 Hour shifts alternating with 4x8 Hour shifts (Nights 20:00 - 04:00)

Must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays, including holiday eves.

Experience Requirements

Candidates must have:

At least 2 years of recent experience in a segmented or separate pediatric Emergency Department (ED) or a Children's Hospital.
Experience with computerized charting, triage, IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation.
Current BLS and PALS certifications.

Role Description

This position requires a clinician to work in a fast-paced, high-volume pediatric Emergency Department within a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. The facility averages 275 patient visits per day and treats a diverse range of pediatric conditions from neonates to adolescents.

Staff are encouraged to demonstrate competency in:

Venous access on neonates, infants, children, and adolescents.
Urinary catheterizations across all age groups.

Total of 57 staffed beds, with a mix of ED and fast-tracking capabilities.
Access to interdisciplinary support services, including respiratory services, phlebotomy, and social services.

Additional Information

Weekend availability is required as staff will be expected to cover shifts as needed. The facility offers free parking for staff and currently uses Epic for charting. All clinicians are expected to adhere to a flexible schedule, accommodating a variety of shifts based on operational needs.

Orientation and Compliance

Prior to the start date, all compliance documents must be submitted, and orientation will include up to 60 hours of training.
