Clinical Laboratory Technician

Overview Labcorp is a leader in diagnostics, drug development, and healthcare innovation. We're looking for a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at UAB St. Vincent St. Clair in Pell City, AL. $5,000 sign‑on bonus (external candidates only). Work schedule: 7 on / 7 off – 7:00 pm – 5:30 am. Job Responsibilities Determine acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem‑solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. Assist with specimen processing when needed. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology. Preferred Qualifications 4 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience. ASCP or AMT certification. Additional Job Standards Non‑traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement. Familiarity with laboratory information systems. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Proficient with computers. High level of attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
