Optometric Technician

Job Description Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Optical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to our optometrists, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality care. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, customer service skills, and a solid understanding of optometric practices. The Optical Technician will assist with various tasks related to eye care, including working with medical records and performing essential data entry duties.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-testing procedures for eye exams
Assist with contact lens fittings and prescription dispensing
Conduct visual field testing, oct and autorefraction
Utilize optical knowledge to assist patients with lensometry
Handle scheduling appointments and maintaining electronic medical records
Assist our optical department and other areas of the practice where needed
Experience

Previous experience in an optical or healthcare setting is preferred.
Knowledge of optometric practices, including familiarity with medical coding systems.
Understanding of anatomy and physiology related to eye care is desirable.
Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate medical records.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
Bilingual English/Spanish speaking is a plus
