Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role involves providing respiratory care to pediatric critical care patients in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and general medical/surgical acute care units. Candidates must bring their license on the first day. The assignment is a 13-week contract requiring a minimum of 36 hours per week, working the 12-hour night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Details:

• Certifications Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Education: Associate Degree or Certificate (Required), Bachelor's Degree (Preferred).
• Licenses: Wisconsin License, NBRC Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential. If the candidate does not hold a Wisconsin license, they are encouraged to apply for the Act 10 temporary licensure.
• Experience: 3-5 years of pediatric critical care or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, capable of functioning effectively in PICU and Level IV NICU settings.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shift working from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week.
• Clinical Responsibilities: Manage respiratory care patients including vent management with Servo I and Servo u ventilators, LTVs, Astral, Trilogy, oscillators, trach care, invasive and non-invasive ventilation methods such as CPAP, BiPAP, RAM cannula, NAVA ventilation, and PEP. Perform intubations, extubations, suctioning, treatments, and manage ventilated patients.
• Floating: Primarily PICU and NICU, with possible float to general medical/surgical units and Emergency Department Telemetry Coverages.
• Additional Requirements: Must wear any professional scrubs, with body piercing restrictions including a single small stud in the nose and flesh-colored or clear piercing plugs. Flu vaccine required with no exemptions.
• Vaccinations & Policy: Flu vaccination mandatory. The client can terminate the contract with a two-week notice if census dictates. Travelers are guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where the unit is closed and during orientation.
• Interview Process: Managed via phone interviews scheduled Monday through Friday.
• Shift Notes: Night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
