Eaton’s EPG CHD EP Americas division is currently seeking a Warehouse Worker. This position is based at our Roanoke, VA facility. The core hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The hourly rate for this position is $20.78 per hour.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:POSITION SUMMARYWalk Pickers are responsible for picking appropriate items from stock inventory for redistribution to various locations in the facility. We have approximately 85,000 employees.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESManually pick products off shelves to fill orders.Scan products using Radio Frequency (RF) unitsFill boxes with packaging materials to avoid order damageFollow safety procedures for equipment use to reduce potential for accidentsCount product quantities to fill ordersTransport picked orders to packing station to be prepared for shippingBuild appropriate (correct size) box based on order, weight, and sizeLabel boxes with barcodes for product and order trackingFollow packaging procedures for pallets to fill large ordersMonitor equipment to ensure proper functioningReview manifests, invoices, and orders to ensure accurate ordersExamine products to ensure damaged products are not shippedLift products to place them on palletUnderstand quota requirements to accomplish required production levelQualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalentMust be able to lift up to 40 lbs.Remain standing for an extended period of time up to 10 hoursAble to perform with constant movement of the armsPREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKnowledge:Production and Processing - Knowledge of techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods.Transportation - Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods including the relative costs and benefits.Skills:Skills:Active Learning - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Active Listening - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Mathematics - Using mathematics to solve problemsMonitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.Management of Material Resources - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.Abilities:Memorization - The ability to remember information such as words, numbers, pictures, and procedures.Perceptual Speed - The ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences among sets of letters, numbers, objects, pictures, or patterns.
