Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a 15-week contract. The position requires working night shifts and includes every other weekend. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care in a general emergency department, including both adult and pediatric patients.
• Deliver effective triage and manage patient flow in the emergency department.
• Administer and interpret blood gas analysis, monitor vital signs, and manage dysrhythmias.
• Perform arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care.
• Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access, including starting IVs, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors.
• Conduct procedural sedation and ensure patient safety during various emergency procedures.
• Assist in the management of a variety of emergency cases, including CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, and spinal cord injuries.
• Respond to traumatic incidents such as gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and near drownings.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and implement appropriate safety measures for infectious patients.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license.
• ACLS, BLS, CPI, and PALS certifications are mandatory.
• Demonstrated experience in both adult and pediatric emergency care.
• Understanding of emergency protocols, including STEMI and stroke management.
• Ability to interpret and manage various dysrhythmias.
• Competence in performing phlebotomy and arterial line management.

Contract Details

• 15-week contract starting December 14.
• Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30).
• Every other weekend is required.
• No requests for time off (RTO) will be accepted during the first two weeks; any planned RTO must be limited to a maximum of 3 days and clearly specified upon submission.
• Mental preparedness to work during holidays.
