RF Analysis Engineer – Senior The RF Analysis Engineer provides technical support to the DoW Electromagnetic Spectrum Enterprise Policy and Programs (EMSEPP) office in spectrum management, electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO), 5G and FutureG technologies, and spectrum policy. The role involves supporting government meetings, technical working groups, and stakeholder engagements, preparing reports, presentations, and briefing materials, and coordinating with DoW organizations, federal agencies, industry partners, and standards bodies to assess emerging technologies, spectrum‑sharing initiatives, regulatory developments, and spectrum access strategies. Responsibilities Validate input data and devise analysis methodology to produce high‑quality technical outputs. Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials for government meetings and technical working groups. Coordinate with DoW organizations, federal agencies, industry partners, and standards bodies on spectrum‑related matters. Assess emerging technologies, spectrum‑sharing initiatives, and regulatory developments. Deliver subject‑matter expertise and technical recommendations to support DoW spectrum modernization and electromagnetic spectrum superiority objectives. Support the Lead Engineer in representing the DoW’s interests in technical working groups with peers. Mentor junior engineers and perform quality assurance on technical work. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Radio Frequency (RF) engineering. 2+ years of experience conducting Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) analyses for DoW spectrum‑dependent systems. Knowledge of federal spectrum management and wireless communications systems. Knowledge of DoW or other military branch spectrum‑dependent mission systems (e.g., radionavigation and communications). Knowledge of 4G and 5G RAN technologies, including RF interfaces. Ability to mentor junior engineers and perform quality assurance. Strong presentation skills for high‑pressure technical committees and production of professional documentation. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Science, Technology, or Mathematics. Secret clearance or eligibility to obtain one. Nice to Have Experience with ITU standardization (ITU‑T), ITU‑R sectors, and WRC processes. Experience in MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages to augment COTS RF simulation capabilities. Experience with Systems Tool Kit (STK), Visualyse Professional, EDX Signal Pro, or iQLink. Knowledge of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and RF protocols and propagation models. Knowledge of NTIA and FCC processes related to DoW spectrum policy and strategy. Master’s degree in a related field. Compensation and Benefits Projected salary range: $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD).
