Software Engineer, Agentic AI

Dotmatics

Dotmatics seeks a Software Engineer specializing in Agentic AI to design and build the core AI agent for the Luma platform. This role emphasizes AI-native engineering practices, with coding agents as the primary development approach, requiring expertise in agent architecture, reasoning, tool integration, and production deployment.

Responsibilities

Design and develop the core agent loop, harness, and control flow for Luma
Implement agent features including subagents, task persistence, checkpointing, and error recovery
Manage context engineering decisions for optimal model performance and cost
Lead tool integration and evaluation for agent capabilities
Verify agent output quality through testing, review, and production monitoring

Requirements

Extensive experience building or shipping production AI agents
Deep understanding of LLM reasoning, tool use, and failure modes
Proficiency with coding agents and AI-assisted development workflows
Strong software engineering fundamentals in architecture and quality assurance
Experience with agent frameworks, prompt engineering, or context management
Demonstrated ability to work in high-trust, collaborative engineering teams
