Job Description
Job Description
Property Coordinator | Bronx, NY | $55,000–$60,000/year | Full-Time (on-site)
The RoleEqual Access is partnering with a well established property management company that manages a growing portfolio of multifamily affordable housing properties across the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, supported by programs including LIHTC, HOME, and project-based vouchers. The portfolio is expanding, and the Property Management team needs a sharp, organized coordinator to keep daily operations moving without things slipping through the cracks.
The Property Coordinator sits between tenants, vendors, building supers, and internal teams, keeping inspections scheduled, work orders tracked, and maintenance requests moving from open to closed. You will report to the Sr. Property Manager and work under the direct oversight of the Sr. Property Coordinator.
This is not a leasing role, and it is not a remote-friendly position. It requires someone who can hold a lot of moving pieces, communicate clearly with a range of people, and follow through consistently.
What This Role Is, and Is NotThis role is:
- A coordination and communications hub for property operations
- Heavily focused on work order management, inspection logistics, and vendor follow-up
- A role where bilingual (English and Spanish) communication is required, not preferred
- Supported by direct oversight from a senior coordinator as you get up to speed
- An entry point into property management with real operational exposure across a meaningful affordable housing portfolio
This role is NOT:
- A strategy or policy role
- Suitable for someone who needs significant autonomy before they are ready for it
- A fit for candidates uncomfortable with high-volume follow-up and repetitive coordination tasks
- Remote or hybrid in any capacity
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, required, written and verbal
- 1 to 2 years of experience in property management or a closely related coordination role (relevant transferable experience considered)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Familiarity with RealPage or a comparable property management system is a plus, not a dealbreaker
- Strong organizational habits and the ability to manage multiple open items across different properties and teams simultaneously
- A communication style that is clear, professional, and consistent whether you are talking to a tenant, a super, or a vendor
- Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven team where documentation and follow-through matter
- A degree is not required if your experience and work habits demonstrate the right fundamentals
- Coordinate all building inspections, including Section 8, HPD, insurance, and partner or syndicator inspections, in close collaboration with the Sr. Property Manager and Sr. Property Coordinator
- Support the Sr. Property Coordinator and legal team in addressing court stipulations, including tracking required repairs to completion and maintaining accurate documentation
- Manage and track work orders in RealPage (or the current system of record), keeping documentation accurate and timelines on track
- Dispatch maintenance requests to supers, vendors, and contractors, then monitor progress until each item is closed out
- Serve as a consistent point of contact for tenants, communicating via phone, email, and Microsoft Teams to coordinate service requests and follow through on open items
- Confirm repair completion directly with tenants and address any concerns before closing out work orders
- Conduct follow-up with building supers on maintenance deadlines and service standards
- Flag potential capital improvement needs identified during inspections and communicate observations to the appropriate team members
- Maintain detailed records across all coordination activities, supporting the team's ability to report on property conditions and compliance status
- Assist with additional administrative and operational tasks as assigned, with the expectation that the scope may shift as the portfolio grows
- Base salary: $55,000 to $60,000 per year
- Full-time, salaried position
