Experienced neurosurgical icu app (apn acute care cerrtified or physician assistantant) per diem nights assists, monitors, and manages the day-to-day needs of patients as requested by, in conjunction with, and under the supervision of a physician. Performs the duties and responsibilities of a physician assistant according to customary and generally accepted medical standards. Inpatient with rotating weekends. Experienced neurosurgery app required for per diem night coverage.

Jersey shore university medical center is one of 3 locations at hackensack meridian neuroscience institute that offers focused ultrasound (fus), a minimally invasive treatment for patients with essential tremor and parkinson's disease tremor that has not responded to medications.

Our center for treatment of paralysis and reconstructive nerve surgery uses the most advanced treatment options to help restore function in patients who have suffered from stroke, neuropathy, brachial plexus injuries, diaphragm paralysis and other conditions.

Jersey shore university medical center will be the only medical center in the northeast to offer zap-x, a radiosurgery, with synaptive mri technology. This revolutionary technology treats brain tumors, facial pain and arteriovenous malformations or avms (irregular connections between arteries and veins) within days and requires no incision and no anesthesia.

At the center for advanced skull base surgery, adult and pediatric neurosurgeons now have the expertise and technology to approach the cranial base endoscopically, which is less invasive than conventional open brain surgery.

Responsibilities include providing medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician, performing and documenting accurate, complete, and relevant history and physical assessments, ordering, performing, and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic studies/procedures, managing general medical and surgical conditions, prescribing medication safely and effectively, seeking opportunities to promote hackensack meridian health (hmh) practice recognition, providing care that is patient- and family-centered, practicing as a healthcare provider according to the rules and regulations of the medical staff, applying evidence-based and value-based medicine, evaluating patient/family transition of care planning, demonstrating clinical expertise through advanced assessment and procedural skills, translating best practice into clinical practice, providing culturally sensitive and educationally appropriate health management education to patients and families, facilitating consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team, serving as an advocate for patients and families, serving as a clinical resource for the multidisciplinary team, participating in organizational and departmental meetings, committees, and workgroups, demonstrating the highest level of accountability for professional practice, adhering to ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, informed consent, and adverse outcomes, collaborating with medical staff to support nursing-led protocols, mentoring other pa's, precepts students in pa programs and participating in educational programs as a clinical expert, identifying patient/family educational needs and collaborating to implement appropriate teaching materials, facilitating and participating in nursing educational programs as a clinical expert, promoting a collaborative work environment supporting the organizational mission, behavior expectations, values, and pillars, promoting innovation by integrating new clinical knowledge into practice, participating in clinical research activities and disseminating findings through practice, education, presentations, and publications, identifying ethical care issues and coordinating interdisciplinary meetings to resolve them, adhering to the legal framework and scope of practice defined by the nj division of consumer affairs, ensuring compliance with all applicable statutes and professional standards, complying with hmh and department-specific scope of services, policies and procedures as applicable to role, and adhering to hmh organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

qualifications include education, knowledge, skills and abilities required such as successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient computer skills, physician assistant license, national commission on certification of physician assistants, bls aha basic health care life support hcp certification, and aha advanced cardiac life support certification. education, knowledge, skills and abilities preferred are not applicable. licenses and certifications required include nj state professional registered nurse license, advance practice nurse license, bls aha basic health care life support hcp certification, board certified by aanp or ancc, and aha advanced cardiac life support certification.

compensation minimum rate of $75.47 hourly hmh is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
