Hours for first shift are generally Monday through Friday. Non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays, may be needed for weather conditions.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms status checks of boilers and air conditioning unitsCleans restrooms and floorsRemoves snow on designated campusAssembles and repairs office furnitureCuts keys and changes lock coresRepairs sinks, showers, and toiletsReplaces light bulbs and ballastsChanges filters, belts, and grease motorsCleans air conditioning coilsInspects generators and elevatorsAssists with supervision of custodial staffFills in for Maintenance Manager as requiredMay be on call 24/7 for emergenciesPerforms other duties as required or assignedSuccess FactorsKnowledge of Schneider and Trane BAS and door security softwareKnowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and paintingKnowledge of Akita Box Facilities Maintenance software systemKnowledge of Best Lock Systems – cutting keys and creating coresKnowledge of plow/salt truck operation, along with skid steersSkill in Microsoft Office Outlook (e-mail and calendar functions), Word, and ExcelAbility to work in tight areas and awkward positions, including on a ladderAbility to work outdoors during inclement weatherAbility to remain professional and courteous at all timesAbility to work respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environmentJob Requirements, Education, Training and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED equivalentThree years of custodial and equipment maintenance workLicenses or CertificationsMust possess a valid driver's license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency, with acceptable driving recordMust possess a third-class Low-Pressure Boiler Operator License in Wisconsin, or be able to obtain within one yearBenefitsHealth, dental and vision insurance effective first of month following 30 days of employment with the ability to reduce premium contribution through participation in a wellness programFlexible Spending AccountsEmployee Assistance ProgramPaid Time OffTwelve Paid HolidaysRetirement Plan: Participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System which includes county-paid life insuranceTuition ReimbursementPet InsurancePaid Volunteer TimePhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
