Immediate opening for a  Manufacturing Engineer in  Fort Worth, TX who possesses:

• Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of engineering experience preferred
• Experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, project management, capital expenditure, and acquisitions
• Strong equipment automation experience and strong understanding of facility operations
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

FULL DESCRIPTION:   The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes, participation in special design requests, and continuous product or process improvement programs with the objective of enhancing the product offering, improving quality, minimizing production cost, and sustaining a competitive advantage in the market. This person will need to be a hands-on engineer with strong mechanical aptitude.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Introducing new processes and equipment from concept to implementation to support new product development, Lean Manufacturing objectives, and continuous process improvement programs
• Supporting manufacturing process development, process documentation, operator training and certification requirements, and tooling
• Working with Design Engineering, Sales, and Operations departments to establish priorities, schedules, and action plans for manufacturing components required for sales orders and new products
• Clearly interpreting production assembly and component drawings to accurately fabricate and assemble finished product per customer order requests
• Increasing manufacturing efficiency by improving work methods, material flow, tooling, jigs, fixtures, plant layout, routings, training, and computer programs or systems
• Analyzing new process initiations for financial payback, quality enhancement, and related improvements
• Checking for non-conformance issues of internally and externally provided parts by verifying dimensions using devices including calipers, micrometers, height gauge, and optical comparator
• Identifying and troubleshooting production issues
• Serving as a liaison between departments as needed to obtain documented resolutions
• Supporting a safe work environment by participating in the Safety Program
• Responding to safety concerns as they arise
• Performing other duties as assigned

The selected candidate will also possess:

• Four-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing engineering role required
• Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements
• Thorough understanding of light steel fabrication processes, including roll forming, punching, shearing, welding, sawing, or related processes
• Working knowledge of equipment automation, including controllers, automation components, and related systems
• General understanding of facility operations, including utilities, cranes, hazardous chemical control, or related areas
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
• Strong understanding of Safety Programs and objectives
• Willingness to travel when required
• Strong analytical ability and mechanical aptitude
• Strong communication skills at all levels
• Spanish speaking skills are a plus
• Highly organized with strong project management skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience with 3D solid modeling required
• SolidWorks experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout office, production, and manufacturing areas during the workday
• Ability to review production drawings, component drawings, technical documentation, reports, and computer screens for extended periods
• Ability to use hands and fingers for typing, documentation, measurement tools, drawings, equipment review, and standard engineering tasks
• Ability to use inspection and measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators as needed
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move standard engineering, tooling, production, or office materials as needed
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while following applicable safety procedures
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment as needed

Salary Range: $80,000 to $100,000/year
