Designer Drafter

Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications. We are looking for a Designer Drafter to join our team. In this role you would be working with specifications and instructions from our Mechanical and Tooling Engineers to generate 3D CAD models and 2D drawings. Our team utilizes SolidWorks software and SolidWorks PDM, experience with this software is required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Create 3D CAD models and assemblies in SolidWorks from data or instructions provided from engineers Create 2D drawings as required Generate new designs and concepts per project requirements Verify parts, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks CAD are correct, complete, and ready for PDM vault storage Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions Perform other work-related duties as assigned DESIREDKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCES: Associate's degree, or equivalent, in Computer Aided Drafting preferred 5-10 years related experience Previous experience with a PDM or PLM system is desired. Ability to learn SolidWorks PDM quickly, required Requires thorough knowledge of drafting techniques, engineering terminology and manufacturing processes and materials Proven expertise with SolidWorks Ability to organize, prioritize and track task assignments Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications Knowledge of techniques for proper plastic part design Employment Eligibility Requirements: This position may involve access to items subject to U.S. export-control laws.
