Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum for a travel nursing job in Kansas City, Missouri.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/12/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 12, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift LDRP unit role requiring 3+ years of L&D experience and both Missouri/Kansas or compact RN licensure in hand.Details\n \n LDRP unit within an acute care hospital of 74 staffed beds\n Full couplet care model covering antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care\n Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3\n Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)\n Weekend rotation of 4-6 weekend shifts (Sat/Sun) plus 2 Fridays per 6-week schedule\n On-call requirement of 2 mandatory shifts per 6-week schedule\n Holiday coverage required for 1 major holiday and 1-2 minor holidays per rotation\n Charge RN assignments as needed per unit\n Regular floating required between departments, units, and facilities as needed\n Epic EMR experience required\n Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license required (Missouri and Kansas or compact license in hand at time of consideration)\n BLS, FHM, and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate preferred\n Minimum 3 years of L&D experience required, with 2 years of recent in-specialty experience and no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year\n Community hospital experience preferred\n Experience with vaginal birth, C-section circulating/recovery, amnioinfusion, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management required\n Experience with high-risk delivery, C-section scrubbing, and external cephalic version preferred\n Skilled in fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement/calibration, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns\n Experience with antepartum testing including NSTs and obstetrical triage required\n Proficiency with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood/blood products required\n Postpartum care skills required, including fundus/lochia/perineum assessment, wound care, and lactation support\n Newborn care skills required, including thermoregulation, phototherapy, and discharge teaching\n Epic charting experience required\n Two professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year\n Prior travel nurse experience required\n Additional Information\n \n Care for patients across triage, C-section, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum within the LDRP model\n Assist with post-op gynecology care including hysterectomy recovery\n Navy scrub color required\n Free parking provided\n Maximum RTO of 7 days, finalized at time of submission with no changes after offer\n Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted\n First-time travelers not accepted for this role\n Previous BJC/Saint Luke's employees must complete an 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service before returning as a traveler; former permanent employees must wait 1 year\n Travel partners not accepted\n Compliance documents due 2 Fridays before start date, with required training modules completed prior to start\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-726572.
