About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Underwriting - Financial Institutions to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a key player in building and underwriting a diverse and profitable book of new and renewal financial institutions business. This role demands a professional with extensive knowledge of complex financial institution risks, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record in driving profitable growth. Responsibilities include reviewing submissions, developing relationships with key brokers, generating new business, and analyzing complex risks. The VP will also be accountable for underwriting activities, ensuring compliance with service standards, and mentoring junior underwriters. The ideal candidate for this role at the company will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, a minimum of 10 years' of financial institutions underwriting experience, and an established network of broker relationships. Deep financial institutions underwriting and product acuity are essential, as is the ability to process and adapt to change in a rapid, data-driven environment. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer service mindset.
