Registered Nurse (RN) - Birthing Center/Mother BabyThis position involves working in a busy birthing center with a focus on labor and delivery, postpartum care, and maternal safety. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns, ensuring adherence to best practices and guidelines.Unit InformationLabor & Delivery Beds: 13Operating Room Suites for C-Sections: 2Triage Beds: 2Postpartum Beds: 14Average Births Per Month: 170-190Key ResponsibilitiesAttend deliveries independently and assist in circulating for C-sections.Provide care for patients with high-risk conditions including preeclampsia, diabetes, and mental health concerns.Support newborn transitions and attend to low-risk deliveries.Administer and titrate medications such as magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin as needed.Collaborate with OB/GYNs, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and nursing assistants to ensure high-quality patient care.Required QualificationsRegistered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in LDRP.Current certifications: BLS, NRP; preference for Intermediate or Advanced FHM.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changes in processes and workflows.Shift and SchedulingShifts are primarily night shifts.Weekend requirements include working nights on Fridays and Saturdays, with holidays rotated with permanent staff.Floating is required within the maternity unit, including postpartum care; no floating to NICU.Orientation and TrainingCompletion of an 8-hour compliance orientation, followed by an 8-hour EPIC training session.On-the-job orientation includes 2-3 shifts specific to the unit.Additional InformationA friendly and supportive management team focuses on feedback and quality improvement.
