Family Liaison Specialist/Admission Assistant

Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) seeks a Family Liaison Specialist / Admission Assistant to provide detailed administrative support to the Admission Office. This position is responsible for entering, tracking, and maintaining applicant data across multiple platforms, including Standard Application Online (SAO) and Slate. Working closely with the Admission team, this role ensures application materials are complete, records are accurate, and enrollment processes are handled efficiently throughout the admissions cycle.

A Day in the Life:

The Family Liaison Specialist/Admission Assistant plays a vital role in managing the intricate details essential for the smooth operation of the admissions process. This individual retrieves and tracks online application data from Standard Applications Online (SAO), ensuring all application pieces are accounted for, except transcripts. They handle incoming inquiries and application forms from various sources, serving as a key resource for prospective families. This person is also responsible for scheduling attendance at events and fairs, coordinating logistics for on-campus events, and sending out “Families On Campus” emails to keep the community informed. Supporting the admissions team, this individual processes enrollment forms and deposits in collaboration with the business office, meticulously maintaining accurate records. Their efforts help to prepare for the upcoming admission season, demonstrating a commitment to NMH’s mission of equity and inclusion by fostering a welcoming and diverse environment for all prospective students and families.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of administrative office experience or data entry

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with diverse constituencies including students, teaching faculty, administrators, parents, and alumni populations

• Excellent organizational and decision-making skills

• Ability to multi-task and complete work within a specific timeline while remaining detail oriented

• Ability to balance independent and collaborative work

• Ability to process and hold confidential information

• Ability to follow written and verbal directions

• The ability to learn new software tools quickly

• Must be able to do simple math calculations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred

• Prior experience with database management or enrollment software

• Prior intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

• Prior knowledge of Google Applications
