RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient care plans
/n• Provide patient care based on established standards, protocols, and policies
/n• Deliver individualized care that respects patient dignity and promotes positive self-regard
/n• Provide patient and family teaching based on identified learning needs
/n• Collaborate in discharge planning incorporating necessary support systems and resources
/n• Appropriately delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others
/n• Prioritize patient care and seek assistance from appropriate resources as needed
/n• Provide thorough, timely, and accurate documentation of all patient data and interventions
/n• Give comprehensive reports to healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care
/n• Promote learning for colleagues and participate in professional development programs
/n• Identify risks to patient safety and opportunities to reduce medical errors
/n• Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy per physician orders
/n• Assess patient pain levels using numerical pain scale and reassess effectiveness
/n• Complete medication reconciliation documentation for attending providers
/n• Interpret and document patient cardiac rhythms and initiate appropriate treatment plans
/n• Provide ongoing assessment and teaching to surgical patients and families
/n• Utilize pain management devices and troubleshoot surgical equipment including traction, feeding pumps, and chest tubes
/n• Graduate of accredited nursing school required
/n• Current Massachusetts RN license required
/n• 1 year Med/Surg experience preferred
/n• 1 year Telemetry experience preferred
/n• 1 year Pediatrics experience preferred
/n• ACLS upon hire or active BLS with ACLS within 60 days required
/n• PALS preferred
/n• Must demonstrate mature professional behaviors including tact, empathy, and diplomacy
