Monday Friday: 5 hours per day on school days

Location: RK Finn Ryan Road Elementary School

Grade 4: Hourly Pay Rate: $23.98 - $27.38 based on experience

Start date: August 24, 2026

Definition: Skilled technical work relating to the provision of food services to all school students, faculty, and staff, and care and maintenance of related supporting equipment and food stocks; all other work as required.

Essential Functions:

• Performs all aspects of the preparation, cooking and serving of several hundred meals per school day; follows all public health guidelines for preparing and serving food.
• Prepares kitchen and cafeteria daily for presentation of meals; sets up counters; cleans kitchen and related cooking or serving equipment daily.
• Participates in planning a la carte menus, preparing and apportioning foods, and utilizing food surpluses and leftovers.
• Supervises workers in food preparation and service, inventory, storage, POS cash register system, cleaning and sanitation of equipment and kitchen areas.
• Trains new cafeteria assistants. Monitors the activities and quality of food service delivery operation at school facilities including staff, stocks, equipment and public health.
• Assumes responsibility for producing each day's meals and the work necessary to prepare future meals.
• Counts and records daily servings; coordinates meals counts with available stock. Performs monthly inventory of all kitchen and cooking supplies.

Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience in the operation of kitchen equipment. At least 2 yrs. experience in food service. Must be ServSafe certified.
