Role Description The Interior Design Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Milford, CT. This role involves working closely with clients in the Design Center to understand their lifestyle, preferences, and functional needs, and then creating tailored interior design solutions that showcase Ethan Allen’s furnishings and accessories. The consultant will develop design presentations, space plans, and product recommendations, guiding clients through selection of furniture, fabrics, finishes, and décor. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing client appointments, providing exceptional in-person customer service, driving sales through design expertise, and maintaining an inspiring showroom environment. The role also includes following up with clients, coordinating with delivery and operations teams, and staying current on product lines, design trends, and brand standards. Qualifications Strong Communication skills to interact effectively with clients, present design concepts clearly, and collaborate with team members. Demonstrated Customer Service skills to provide a welcoming, attentive experience and build lasting client relationships. Professional Interior Design skills, including space planning, color coordination, and the ability to create cohesive, functional design solutions. Sales skills to identify client needs, recommend products confidently, and meet or exceed sales goals. Furniture knowledge, including understanding of construction, styles, finishes, and how pieces work together in various interior settings. Relevant education or training in interior design, fine arts, or a related field; a design-related degree or certification is preferred. Proficiency with design tools and basic digital applications (e.g., design software, tablets, and CRM or POS systems). Ability to work on-site in Milford, CT, including evenings and weekends as needed, and to manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
