Lead Aftercare Teacher

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–7:00 PM
Compensation: $18.00–$23.00/hour

We are looking for a dependable, energetic, and caring Lead Aftercare Teacher to lead our school-age Aftercare program and create a safe, structured, and fun afternoon experience for our children.

As Our Lead Aftercare Teacher, You Will:

• Walk to local Hoboken schools to safely pick up children and escort them back to the center.
• Lead the daily Aftercare classroom routine from 2:00 PM–7:00 PM .
• Provide homework assistance and academic support to school-age children.
• Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans, projects, games, and activities .
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, organized, and positive classroom environment.
• Supervise children during transitions, activities, snack, homework, and play.
• Build positive relationships with children and help make Aftercare something they look forward to each day.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with families about their child's afternoon.
• Work closely with the leadership team and fellow teachers to ensure a smooth and successful Aftercare program.
• Follow all TLE policies, procedures, and applicable state licensing and safety requirements.

• Have a genuine passion for working with and educating children.
• Are dependable, responsible, energetic, and comfortable taking the lead in a classroom.
• Are comfortable walking locally to pick up children from area schools .
• Have at least six months of professional teaching/childcare experience; one year or more is preferred.
• Have a high school diploma/GED (required); an Associate degree or higher in ECE, Education, or a related field is preferred.
• Can meet all applicable background screening and state licensing requirements.
