Operating Room Registered Nurse

Nursing Position at Fayetteville Ambulatory Surgery CenterPlans and implements professional nursing care for patients in accordance with hospital policies. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Assesses the patient and identifies patient care needsUses patient assessment information to organize appropriate patient carePlans, organizes, implements, and evaluates patient careFacilitates a safe environmentMaintains required competenciesFunctions as charge nurse as assignedMaintains an accurate and relevant record of patient careAdministers medication as ordered by physicianRecognizes life threatening situations and responds appropriatelyEstablishes collaborative interdisciplinary relationships with other Health System staff and medical staffMonitors the quality of care based on pre-established outcome-oriented indicatorsActively participates in cost containment and assists in accurate charging for patient servicesAdjusts care based upon age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs of patientsSupports patients in the practice of their cultural and spiritual beliefs within limits of medical regimenOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training:Associates Degree in Nursing or equivalent requiredBachelors Degree in Nursing preferredCurrent licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensureUnit Description:Fayetteville Ambulatory Surgery Center is a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center.Our facility opened in 1981 and has been serving the Fayetteville and surrounding communities for many years. We pride ourselves on the exceptional care we provide to our patients and their families.Our Care team consists of a team that provides safe quality care: Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Surgical Technologists, Surgical Care Technicians, Business Office Employees, Department Specific Managers and a Director of Nursing and Administrator.Our patients include Pediatric and Adult patients seeking surgery.We offer Monday – Friday scheduling with no weekends, major holidays and no on call.We do not accept new graduate nurses for this position.Work Experience:OrthopedicsEar, Nose and ThroatGeneral SurgeryGynecologyUrologyPodiatryPlastic SurgeryMust have at least 1 year of Operating room or Ambulatory Surgery experience to be considered.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English languageDemonstrates positive interpersonal skillsVerbal and written skills requiredDemonstrates effective organizational and leadership skillsHas knowledge of the age-specific physiological and psychosocial, developmental and spiritual needs of the patients typically servedPhysical Requirements:Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needsVisual acuity for observation of patientsMuch standing, walking, bending, and liftingMay involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious materialMust be able to lift 35 poundsRequired Licenses and CertificationsBLS - American Heart Association, RN - Board Of NursingCape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
