Location: Harrison, NJ Employment Type: Full-time Compensation: $85-$115K Position Overview The Commercial Real Estate Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to attorneys throughout all phases of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and closings. This role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple transactions simultaneously. The paralegal will collaborate closely with attorneys, clients, and third parties to ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation and deliverables. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities Support attorneys throughout the lifecycle of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and closings. Prepare, review, organize, and maintain purchase and sale agreements, leases, amendments, assignments, closing documents, and related correspondence. Conduct and coordinate due diligence, including review of title reports, surveys, leases, zoning documents, organizational documents, and property records. Coordinate with clients, lenders, brokers, title companies, opposing counsel, and other third parties to facilitate transactions. Prepare and maintain closing checklists and coordinate signature packages, closing binders, and post-closing requirements. Order and review title, survey, lien, judgment, and other property-related searches. Assist with drafting and reviewing real estate-related legal documents under attorney supervision. Track transaction timelines, critical dates, deadlines, and outstanding items to ensure timely completion. Coordinate and assist with real estate closings, including preparation of closing statements and documentation. Prepare and coordinate recording of deeds, mortgages, assignments, releases, and other documents with applicable governmental offices. Perform legal, property, and transaction-related research as needed. Maintain organized electronic and physical transaction files and ensure documents are properly filed and accessible. Assist attorneys with preparation of reports, summaries, and transaction status updates. Manage multiple transactions simultaneously while prioritizing time-sensitive matters. Handle confidential client and transaction information with professionalism and discretion. Required Experience/Skills Approximately 5 years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal environment. Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, documentation, and closing procedures. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, clients, and outside parties. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel; experience with legal document management systems is a plus. Knowledge of NJ/NY state laws. Preferred Experience/Skills Experience with commercial real estate transactions. Familiarity with complex financing and leasing structures. Ability to manage high-volume transactions under tight deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a related field or paralegal certificate preferred. Continuing education in real estate law or paralegal studies is a plus. Familiarity with legal terminology and documentation standards. Training in title and survey review processes beneficial. Knowledge of compliance requirements for NJ/NY real estate transactions.
