  • Ensure therapists are responding to resident needs in a timely and clinically appropriate manner, consistent with care plans and regulatory requirements.
  • Review clinical reports and documentation related to residents receiving rehabilitation services and address any gaps or concerns.
  • Evaluate and treat residents, as appropriate to licensure, to support program development, clinical quality, and coverage needs.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance management for rehabilitation team members, including regular check‑ins, annual evaluations, and corrective action when needed.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate in‑services on topics such as dementia‑friendly care, fall prevention, safe transfers, and documentation standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture that supports retention, engagement, professional growth, and strong communication across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist Assistant license in the state of practice (or eligibility prior to start).
  • Prior experience in skilled nursing, post‑acute rehab, senior living, or long‑term care strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and comfort overseeing an interdisciplinary rehab team.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, with a resident‑centered, outcomes‑focused approach.
