Accountant II
The Accountant II will be responsible for the general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, sales tax, account reconciliations and accounts receivable. Responsibilities include compliance with US GAAP standards and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Responsible for monthly and annual financial closing process, including preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and variance analyses.
- Account Reconciliation: Prepare and review monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, bank statements, intercompany transactions, and fixed assets. Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) and management reporting packages.
- Accounts Receivable: Customer billing, payment posting, credit limits, and collections to protect cash flow.
- Compliance & Audits: Serve as a point of contact for external and internal auditors. Prepare audit schedules, gather supporting documentation, and support tax filing schedules.
- Fixed Assets & Inventory: Manage fixed asset ledgers (depreciation, additions, disposals) and/or oversee inventory accounting schedules where applicable.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Experience: 35 years of progressive professional accounting experience (corporate accounting or public accounting background).
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems.
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present financial insights to non-finance partners. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet tight deadline schedules, and work independently with minimal supervision. Communication and collaboration.
