Job Summary Position: Surgical Technologist. Schedule: Full-time, Days, 36 hours per week. Location: 10999 Narcoosee Rd., Orlando, FL 32832. Responsibilities Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and keep the circulating nurse informed throughout a procedure. Maintain high standards and quality in facilitating cost savings and containment. Assemble all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to the procedure. Support customer and employee satisfaction activities; maintain good relationships with physicians, management, other departments, and staff; and respond to complaints in a timely manner. Monitor aseptic technique of the entire surgical team and take immediate corrective action for any breaks in technique. Identify and report environmental concerns to management and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and policies. Qualifications Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively. Basic skills related to aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the healthcare industry. Up-to-date knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies to hand surgeons the correct tools during surgeries. Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and laws at various jurisdictional levels. Ability to understand and process surgeon-dictated instructions and directions. Assembly of mechanical devices and knowledge of fundamental human anatomy. Must be able to work well with multiple team members. Education High School Graduate or Equivalent (Required) Associate's degree (Preferred) Technical/Vocational School (Preferred) Field of Study: Currently enrolled or successful completion of an approved/accredited school for Surgical Technology. Work Experience 2+ years of technical experience in the field (Preferred) 1+ years of relevant experience (Preferred) Licenses & Certifications Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) (Required) State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] Technician in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) (Required) Physical Requirements Physical requirements: See the provided link for detailed information.
