Physician - Cardiovascular Intensivist (The Christ Hospital - Cincinnati, OH)

CARDIOVASCULAR INTENSIVIST (CCM) The Christ Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio is recruiting fellowship‑trained critical care physicians to staff our 28‑bed CVICU. Physicians will be directly employed by the Institute and will work closely with cardiac specialists in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, and advanced heart failure. The role requires managing a wide range of critical cardiac conditions and will provide an opportunity for growth into a Division Director position. Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership and direct patient care in the CVICU, managing patients with severe valvular disease, AMI, cardiogenic shock, dissections, mechanical cardiac support, heart transplantation, and chronic heart failure. Work a balanced schedule of 12‑hour shifts, approximately 14–16 in‑house shifts per month (day or night), with 30–45 minutes for team sign‑out. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, APPs, and clinical pharmacy to deliver high‑quality care. Participate in teaching and mentorship of cardiology fellows, internal medicine residents, and student APPs as part of the CVICU rotation. Qualifications Fellowship training in critical care medicine (board certified or board eligible). Additional training and experience with ECMO, LVAD, and cardiac transplant preferred. Experience managing postoperative heart transplant patients and perioperative care of cardiothoracic surgery patients is preferred. Eligibility for the Ohio medical license and DEA certificate.
