As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a hardworking, dependable individual to join our Estimating Department as an Estimator. What You’ll Do Work with sales department specifications to perform engineering and project management including: Review all project forms and documentation including building sketches; size; design options/accessories. Prepare design drawings and generate the installation drawings or schematics. Develop actual drawings in the format required by the company and provide copies for project file from MBS program. Provide structural analysis and determine the structural steel required for various building layouts. Drafters are responsible for estimation (building price quotes) in response to customer specifications. Generate technical CAD drawings to specifications using appropriate software. Drawings will ultimately include a computerized document including the pricing of the building based upon the material required. Use customer specifications regarding building measurements to prepare financial quotes. This quote includes the cost of all materials, permits, and any other facets required to construct the building. Perform functions on computer systems or other equipment utilizing existing software programs in order to complete essential documentation. Interact effectively with customers/public and maintain a positive, can‑do, service‑oriented attitude. The ability to withstand negative or emotional communication without wanting to retaliate or feel personally affected. Experience in project estimating and cost control processes. What You’ll Need Knowledge of MBS software helpful but not required. Civil engineering experience in construction management of steel construction a plus but not required. Ability to effectively produce drawings. This may be obtained through previous experience in the construction industry, the use of CAD software helpful. Excellent math skills to determine the cost of the building project and determine statistical data required for the project. Must have good basic knowledge of the construction industries as it relates to the fabric tension building construction and technical facets. Must have strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to effectively multi‑task. Must have a strong work ethic and work well in a team environment and a fast‑paced industry. The ability to demonstrate integrity and ingenuity in solving customer issues.
