GCC was recently ISO certified under ISO 9001:2015. Position Summary GCC Technologies is looking for Junior FOIA specialist to support a large FOIA contract for the Department of Veteran Affairs. This is for a pending proposal and position availability is contingent upon contract award. The contract has both onsite and remote flexibility and will be supporting the Washington DC office. Responsibilities Process FOIA requests by conducting initial reviews, performing searches, drafting response materials, and applying exemptions under supervision. Assist senior staff in maintaining workflow efficiency, ensuring accuracy, and supporting timely completion of FOIA tasks. Follow established procedures, communicate clearly, and contribute to overall FOIA program operations. Qualifications Associates Degree required. 1 year of FOIA processing experience within the last 24 months. Additional FOIA experience may substitute for formal FOIA training or certifications. Duties Minimum of one year of FOIA request processing experience within the last 24 months. Ability to apply FOIA exemptions accurately and consistently. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to draft clear, professional responses. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database tools. Ability to conduct effective internet and records research to support FOIA search and review activities. Compensation Hourly rate of $25.58 under the SCA labor Category of Paralegal I. Health and Welfare rate of $5.09 per hour applied to Benefits. Requirements English Language Requirement: Contractor shall ensure all personnel performing under this contract are able to read, write, and speak English fluently. All personnel must have the ability to effectively communicate orally via telephone and MS Teams communications as well as via email communications.
