Position Overview
Stem Psychological Center is actively seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Therapist, specializing in trauma-informed care. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work remotely while providing crucial support to individuals impacted by trauma, including those suffering from complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and various dissociative disorders. Work Environment
This position is designed for a remote work setting, giving you the flexibility to balance your professional and personal life effectively. While most interactions will occur virtually, you will occasionally collaborate with colleagues at our outpatient office in Corpus Christi. Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and determine appropriate treatment strategies.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at fostering trauma recovery and enhancing emotional resilience.
Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support patients through their recovery.
Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing a supportive space for patients to process their trauma, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and engage in the healing process.
Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure that each patient's care is integrated and holistic.
Provide crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring that patients receive the help they need promptly.
Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and effective coping strategies, empowering them to navigate their journeys toward healing.
Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, contributing to high-quality patient care.
Engage in team meetings and case consultations, sharing insights and strategies focused on trauma-informed care.
Stay current with the latest research, therapies, and best practices in trauma treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you'll primarily work with trauma survivors, including those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your compassion and expertise will help these individuals navigate their recovery and rebuild their lives. By fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship, you will create a safe space in which patients can explore their trauma, express their emotions, and develop effective coping skills for the future.
Qualifications
A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.
Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, demonstrating your capability to work with complex trauma cases.
Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities, as well as experience in resilience-building interventions.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, embodying a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient care.
Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations and deliver effective crisis intervention when necessary.
Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology applications.
An ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Experience
Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions, with a proven track record of positive patient outcomes.
Familiarity with current research and best practices in trauma therapy.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 104,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
