Enterprise Sales Representative

Amazon Web Services is expanding in the U.S. Public Sector market, and the Education team within Amazon offers a creative, fast paced, entrepreneurial work environment where you'll be at the center of Amazon innovation for administrators, faculty, researchers, and students.

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Sales Representative to focus on Research 1 (R1) Higher Education institutions in Maryland. The ideal candidate has sales experience in this vertical with a terrific reputation for overachieving quota while focusing on the customer. They should also be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a territory plan and consistently deliver on quarterly targets. The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to drive an engagement at the CXO level, as well as, with IT architects and leaders. The Enterprise Sales Representative will be an exceptionally strong and creative thinker who thrives in a team environment and embraces all aspects of selling. They must be able to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment and have very strong verbal and written communication skills. This role must be located in Washington, DC metro.

Key job responsibilities:

• Drive revenue and market share in a defined territory and industry vertical.
• Meet or exceed quarterly targets.
• Develop and execute against comprehensive account and territory plan.
• Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services.
• Accelerate customer adoption.
• Maintain a robust sales pipeline.
• Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption.
• Manage contract negotiations.
• Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts.
• Ensure customer satisfaction.

This role will include moderate travel.

About the teamThe role will be working exclusively with a select number of Higher Education customers across Maryland to include Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland College Park, University of Maryland Baltimore and Space Telescope Science Institute.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of full sales cycle, technology sales or equivalent business development, sales engineering/consulting or equivalent experience
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
• Experience driving new business in greenfield accounts at the C-suite level or equivalent
