Staff Accountant - Public Accounting

Location: Greensburg, PA (Onsite) Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with public accounting experience to join a growing accounting firm. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with a diverse client base, supporting accounting, financial reporting, and tax preparation functions in a collaborative and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Convert client accounting data into trial balances
• Assist with the preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements
• Prepare a variety of tax returns, including:
  • Individual (1040)
  • Partnership (1065)
  • Corporate (1120)
• Support clients with bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and general accounting questions
• Communicate directly with clients and provide exceptional service

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of public accounting experience required
• Previous experience working in a public accounting firm
• Proficiency with QuickBooks
• Strong understanding of the accounting cycle through trial balance and financial reporting
• Experience preparing multiple types of tax returns (1040, 1065, and 1120)
• CPA designation not required

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM
• Busy season (January-April) may require additional hours

Pay Details: $25.00 to $36.00 per hour
