Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Apply now and a recruiter will reach out with more details. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA. Active Hawaii Physical Therapy license required to start the assignment. Applicants must obtain Hawaii PT license as soon as possible. Current BLS certification required from American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Experience providing PT evaluations and treatments across inpatient acute, ICU, med/surg, SNF and outpatient clinic settings. Inpatient experience should include mobility progression and discharge planning. Ability to evaluate and treat a full patient schedule, including new evaluations and follow-up treatments (typical cadence: 30–60 minute appointments; volume may range from approximately 5 to 15 patients per day). Comfort working independently in a rural setting and adapting care approaches for diverse outpatient diagnoses. Willingness to work in ER, ICU, Med/Surg (Acute, Observation, SNF), occasional OB, and hospital-based outpatient PT clinic. Must be able to work Saturdays. No exceptions. Preferred Prior experience in rural or island healthcare settings. Experience with discharge planning and interdisciplinary coordination. Assignment Details Facility Type: Hospital. Shift: Days. Shift Days: Monday through Friday, plus required Saturdays. Shift Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 12:00 PM–1:00 PM lunch; flexibility in work hours may occur. Settings: Inpatient (approx. 25% — acute, ICU, SNF) and Outpatient (approx. 75%) mix. Responsibilities: PT evaluations and treatments, some ER and ICU coverage, inpatient mobility progression, outpatient clinic caseload, and discharge planning. Air travel connections to Lihue Airport are typically within a 20–30 minute drive, and ferry and inter-island flight options are available for travel to other Hawaiian islands.
