Registered Nurse, Operating Room (24 hours/week, Call required) Join Boston Medical Center (BMC) Brighton to provide exceptional care in the Operating Room. Position Overview Location: Operating Room – BMC Brighton Schedule: 24 Hours per week, Days (Call required) Job Responsibilities Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients. Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families. Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records. Enter and interpret computerized data/information. Follow guidelines and policies established by the BMC‑Brighton nursing organization. Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects. Education & Certifications Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years. Licensed to practice nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. CNOR certification (preferred). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred). Experience Minimum 2 years of registered nurse experience. Minimum 1 year of operating room experience (2 years preferred). Must be experienced in a circulating role. Knowledge & Skills Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain areas. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to meet job responsibilities. Basic computer proficiency. Fluency in another language is a plus.
