About the Role
The Company is in search of a Senior Vice President of Litigation and Risk Management to lead its legal and risk management functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a multidisciplinary team that handles litigation, claims, insurance, and enterprise risk, with a primary focus on professional liability matters. This executive will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, including the Chief Legal Officer, CEO, and finance executives, and will be tasked with improving litigation outcomes, strengthening risk-management processes, and developing data and reporting capabilities to support business decisions. Key responsibilities include managing a complex portfolio of litigation, developing and implementing litigation strategies, and proactively identifying and mitigating legal and operational risks. Applicants must have a JD from an accredited law school, an active license to practice law, and significant experience in litigation and risk management within a highly regulated industry. The role requires a proven track record in managing complex litigation, including high-exposure disputes and regulatory investigations, and experience in professional liability litigation is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a background in in-house legal practice, experience in leading and managing legal and risk management teams, and a strong understanding of litigation strategy, claims management, and financial exposure. The SVP will be expected to have strong analytical skills, the ability to communicate complex information clearly, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to legal and risk management.
