Heavy Equipment Operator (D5 Bulldozer)

Job Description Job Description We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious D5 Bulldozer Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating Caterpillar D5 or similar-sized dozers on commercial, residential, roadway, or site development projects. The operator will be responsible for performing rough and finish grading, land clearing, trench backfilling, and other earthmoving activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.   Responsibilities Operate a D5 bulldozer safely and efficiently on construction sites. Read and interpret blueprints for site grading Perform rough and finish grading according to project specifications. Clear land, move materials, and prepare job sites for construction activities. Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, and construction drawings. Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete pre-trip/post-trip reports. Identify and report mechanical issues or maintenance needs. Maintain safe working conditions and comply with all OSHA and company safety policies. Work closely with supervisors, grade checkers, and other equipment operators. Assist with general site labor duties when equipment operation is not required.   Qualifications Required: Minimum 2 years of experience operating a D5 bulldozer or similar heavy equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints Knowledge of grading, excavation, and site preparation practices. Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrain. Reliable transportation and strong attendance record. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.   Preferred: Experience with GPS machine control systems. Experience on commercial or civil construction projects.   Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment. Ability to climb on and off equipment multiple times daily. Lift up to 50 pounds when necessary. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
