Video Editor Internship | In-Person | Stipend Provided

Job Description

Job Description

Step into the world of premium television and digital storytelling. We are offering a 2-3 month, in-person Video Editor Internship where you’ll help breathe new life into some of the most iconic TV shows. We are seeking a motivated and creatively driven Video Editing Intern to join our production team for the summer. This is a structured, hands-on programme designed to give you meaningful exposure to professional post-production workflows — not a coffee-fetching internship. You will work alongside current in-house editors on live projects, contribute to content across multiple formats and platforms, and develop a well-rounded skill set that reflects the demands of today's video landscape. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds; what matters most is curiosity, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for the craft of storytelling and editing.

The Recap Group is a leading digital entertainment company that works with global media companies such as Fremantle and ITV - producers of beloved talent shows like America’s Got Talent, The Voice and more.

We are redefining how legacy television content finds new life in the digital age. By combining creative ingenuity with data-driven strategies, we transform classic TV moments into fresh, engaging, and viral content tailored to today’s online audiences. Our expertise spans content strategy, platform optimization, and audience growth, ensuring that the magic of beloved shows reaches fans across the globe.

At our core, we are passionate about preserving the legacy of iconic talent shows while adapting them for the ever-evolving digital landscape. With billions of annual views and a growing network of platforms, The Recap Group is not just repurposing content—we're shaping the future of digital entertainment, one viral moment at a time.

We seek an individual with a keen eye for storytelling through video editing. The ideal candidate will be adept at understanding and navigating YouTube's ever-evolving landscape, ensuring our content not only entertains but also engages and grows our audience.

We are unlikely to respond to applications without a covering letter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Video Production: Edit raw footage into compelling, high-quality videos for our YouTube channels and social platforms, focusing on narrative flow and visual appeal.
• Trend Analysis: Keep abreast of YouTube trends, performance analytics, and platform updates to tailor our content strategy effectively.
• Visual and Audio Enhancement: Apply visual effects, transitions, graphics, and audio enhancements to create standout videos.
• Asset Management: Efficiently edit, organize, and manage video resources for quick and effective content delivery.
• Compilation Editing: Master the art of creating engaging compilation videos from talent show performances.

What You’ll Do:

• Work closely with leaders who manage our top channels like @talentrecap, @top10talent, and @toptalent
• Edit original content and full-length TV episodes into engaging, viral-ready videos tailored for YouTube and other social platforms; optimizing pacing, hooks, and storytelling
• Learn and analyze performance metrics and how to adapt editing to retention, AVD, and other important metrics
• Support the editorial team with file organization, media management, and timely deliveries
• Learn how traditional TV content is transformed for today’s digital world

What You Will Learn:

• Storytelling through editing: Develop narrative instincts — pacing, narrative structure, and emotional arc in long-form and short-form content.
• Technical Skills: Learn to be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite - primarily Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Media Encoder, and After Effects.
• Video Performance Analysis: Reading retention curves, CTR data, AVD data, and platform analytics to improve edits and audience engagement.
• MAM System Usage: Ingesting, tagging and retrieving assets within a Media Asset Management platform.

What You’ll Gain:

• The opportunity to work directly with premium TV content from top entertainment companies like Fremantle, ITV, and more
• Hands-on experience reimagining legendary TV moments and giving them a second life online
• Direct mentorship from seasoned editors and channel managers
• A portfolio filled with high-profile projects that reach millions online
• A monthly stipend for your contribution

Requirements

• Adobe Premiere: Familiarity with Adobe Premiere
• Interest in how to turn legacy content into modern day internet gold
• Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
• Adaptability: Comfortable with rapid changes and able to pivot quickly; a true team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Growth Mindset: Committed to personal and team development, always looking to push the boundaries of what's possible in video content creation.
• Positive energy and a strong willingness to learn in an in-person, collaborative setting

Flexible 2-3 month internship.

Please note - without a proper cover letter your application will be deleted. A portfolio with prior works is a bonus.
