About the Position

Job Opportunity – Neuro ICU Registered Nurse – Night Shift – Ohio

Start Date: January 4, 2027

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Weekend shifts are considered Friday and Saturday nights (Sunday is not a weekend night). 2:1 patient ratio with floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity.

Highlights:

• Work in a specialized Neuro ICU caring for a diverse patient population including stroke, traumatic brain injury, neuromuscular diseases, and post-operative neurosurgery patients
• Gain experience with advanced neuro monitoring including intracranial pressure monitoring, external ventricular drains, and EEG monitoring
• Epic EMR system utilized throughout the facility
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and lift teams
• Manage mechanically ventilated patients and perform bedside procedures including central line care, arterial line management, and ventilator management
• Trauma Level I experience preferred; opportunity to work with complex critical care cases

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU or critical care nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry interpretation, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure monitoring
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
• Willingness to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
