Georgetown College invites applications for a clinical faculty position in Counselor Education within our new graduate counseling program.

The program currently offers a Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) specialization and is expanding its offerings to include a School Counseling specialization and Addiction Counseling Certificate. We are seeking a faculty member with expertise in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling, and competence in Addiction counseling is helpful, who is excited about the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of a new counselor education program.

The successful candidate will contribute to graduate teaching, student advising and mentorship, curriculum development, supervision, scholarship, professional and institutional service, and the program’s continued development and pursuit of CACREP accreditation.

The program is delivered entirely online through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences. An in-person faculty presence is preferred; however, highly qualified candidates who can effectively contribute to a fully online program may be considered for a remote appointment.

Essential Qualifications:

· Earned Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program.

· Experience teaching graduate-level counseling courses.

· Experience with CACREP accreditation and/or CACREP standards.

· Eligibility for or possession of appropriate professional credentials related to counseling.

· Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in a fully online environment using synchronous and asynchronous instructional methods.

· Commitment to counselor professional identity, ethical practice, multicultural competence, and evidence-based counseling practice.

· Demonstrated commitment to graduate student advising, mentorship, and professional development.

· Evidence of scholarly activity appropriate to the candidate’s academic rank.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

· Teach courses aligned with the faculty member’s area of specialization, while contributing to the broader curriculum as appropriate.

· Develop and deliver engaging online instruction through synchronous and asynchronous formats.

· Advise and mentor graduate counseling students.

· Support students through practicum, internship, and professional development experiences.

· Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program improvement.

· Participate in CACREP-related planning, assessment, documentation, and accreditation activities.

· Maintain an active program of scholarship appropriate to the candidate’s academic rank.

· Participate in college, program, and professional service.

· Support student recruitment and retention efforts.

· Develop and maintain relationships with relevant community and professional partners.

· Collaborate with faculty colleagues to support the continued growth and development of the Counselor Education program.

Georgetown College is a private, Christian, liberal arts institution and emphasis is placed on teaching excellence in a diverse context. It is located in the small college town of Georgetown, Kentucky, just 12 miles north of Lexington.

Georgetown College is developing a new, fully online Counselor Education program designed to prepare ethical, competent, and culturally responsive professional counselors. The program currently offers a Clinical Mental Health Counseling specialization and is expanding its offerings to include School Counseling. The program incorporates both synchronous and asynchronous instruction, providing students with the flexibility of online education while maintaining meaningful opportunities for faculty engagement and professional development.

As a growing program, faculty will have an important opportunity to help shape curriculum, develop the School Counseling specialization, establish community partnerships, and contribute to the program’s pursuit of CACREP accreditation.
