Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Tennessee

Start Date: July 27, 2026
Location: Hermitage, Tennessee
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; every other weekend requirement; self-scheduling available on a 4-week rotation

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit with 34-bed and 25-bed units; nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
• Tech support available (3 techs on full 34-bed unit, 2 techs on 25-bed unit) to assist with patient care
• Advanced equipment experience including BiPAPs, high-flow oxygen, Vapotherm, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, and peritoneal dialysis
• Meditech documentation system; IV therapy, wound vac troubleshooting, and critical procedures performed on unit
• Self-scheduling model with 4-week blocks; floating may occur between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed
• Strong retention: most travelers extend after their first assignment due to "care like family" culture and excellent teamwork

Requirements:

• Active RN license in Tennessee (or compact state eligibility)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Critical thinking skills and strong EKG rhythm interpretation ability
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Peripheral IV insertion skills required
• Preferred: Peritoneal dialysis experience, BiPAP and high-flow oxygen systems, stroke care, post-cardiac cath care, tube feedings, and NG/Dobhoff tube management
