Registered Nurse RN ICU

Overview Position: Registered Nurse (ICU 2B) – Night Shift Location: Banner Estrella Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona Shift: Full‑time night shift, 3–12 hour rotations, 7:00pm to 7:30am. Weekend shift differential of $3 per hour. Self‑scheduling tool available for shift and weekend coverage. Responsibilities Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review history, family input, diagnostics, and laboratory data. Formulate a plan of care with realistic, measurable goals, collaborating with multidisciplinary team; revise plan as patient status changes. Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the health care team; provide nursing supervision of other licensed nurses and personnel. Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revise the plan of care as needed; evaluate progress toward goals and expected outcomes. Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record; note physician orders accurately and timely. Provide care based on the best evidence; participate in research activities, unit leadership, education, and orientation of staff, patients, students, and visitors. Contribute to society by improving patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable and safe care; participate in professional organizations. Supervise staff and workflow of the department in some roles. Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and external contacts to facilitate patient care, and provide spiritual support in collaboration with clergy. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in state of practice or equivalent (including temporary/interim or compact license). BLS certification required. Evidence of clinical performance competencies appropriate to ICU nursing, demonstrated through annual validations. Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting, most recent 12 months as an RN in a critical‑care specialty. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred). Professional critical‑care certification (preferred). Additional related education and/or experience in critical‑care nursing. Benefits Weekend shift differential of $3 per hour.
