Linux System Engineer

Our client, a leader in high-performance engineering environments, is seeking a Linux System Engineer to join their team. As a Linux System Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting innovative product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate problem‑solving skills, proactive thinking, and a collaborative spirit. Job Title: Linux System Engineer Location: Boise, ID What’s the Job? Provide high-quality Linux server support for engineering and design teams Partner with engineers to understand requirements and deliver infrastructure solutions that meet performance and scalability needs Provision and manage both physical and virtual systems Automate system builds, configuration management, and operational tasks using tools like Puppet, Python, and shell scripting Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact users What’s Needed? 3+ years of experience administering Linux systems in a production environment Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, performance tuning, and troubleshooting Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet preferred) Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation and system management Provisioning and supporting physical and virtual infrastructure What’s in it for me?
