We look forward to meeting you soon!****PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION**The overall purpose of the Treatment Nurse is to provide consultation and assistance to the nursing and CNA staff to reach and maintain the goal of zero facility acquired pressure ulcer and exceptional wound healing. The Treatment Nurse accomplishes these goals through teaching, training and delivert of skin risk assessments, implementation of prevention interventions, accurate skin care, administering wound treatments prescribed by the attendin physician and documentation, consistent with accepted standards of care and within the scope of RN/LPN training and licensure. The RN/LPN Treatment Nurse also must provide direct resident care and assigns duties to LPNs and/or Nurses Aides as appropriate.The Treatment Nurse will also assist in evaluating and modifying the treatment regimen to meet the p hysical and psychosocial needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical and clinical practices and the policies and procedures of the facility.**JOB FUNCTIONS**Every effort has been made to keep your job desctiption as complete as possible. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work in similar, related, or is a logical assignment to the position.**QUALIFICATIONS**An individual currently licensed in the State of Arkansas as a Licensed RN/LPN with no restrictions due to disciplinart action by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing. She must demonstrate the ability to plan, supervise, and evaluate the nursing care related to her assigned duties.**PRIMARY FUNCTIONS/DUTIES**1. Observes, assesses and reports resident condition/changes and documents accordingly. Performs skin assessments of residents in accordance with facility policy/procedure/practice. Completes Pressure Ulcer Risk Assessments upon admission and re-admission and when otherwise indicated. Implements interventions according to residen'ts risk factors for developing pressure ulcers and teaches staff, resident and family the importance of the inventions. Implements and maintains established procedures relative to the sin managment. Provides consultation to Nursing Staff regarding pressure ulcer risk issues, interventions and wound care needs. Prepares and administers treatments as per Physicians' orders and clinical practice quidelines. Receives, transcribes and executes physicians' orders. Manges skin tears, surgial wounds, etc. Completes detailed documentation to include measurements per facility practice quidelines. Congfers with the facility's interdisciplinary team regarding assessment evaluations and assist in planning and developing an individualized Care Place for residents receiving wound care treatments. Implements care plans as directed, as it relates to wound care, focusing on skin intergrity and PU prevention. Prepares required documentation for Director of Nursing in a timely and accurate manner. Notifies MD of new skin issues, obtains treatment orders and implements changes as indicated. Assists in vollevtion of data relevant to resident assessment and evaluation. Administers treatmens, as prescribed, adhering to ingection vontraol principles and assists with infection control surveillance. Monitors functions and activities of subordinate staff. Assists in the investigation of incidents and accidents as required.
